"You'd never know it today but Esquire used to be unique in it's witty, stylish and comical take on the Men's magazine cover. All the early cover featured a toff in top hat and tails, giving the magazine instant distinction from Playboy's sleazier Play Bunny image. Of course, today they look just like any other men's magazine jostling for (the very limited) attention of what publisher's suppose to be the modern magazine reading male. Shame, some of the covers below are brilliant."
